Thoralf Schlüter
YP at the Water Unit |
|
"During my studies in Civil Engineering I focussed on water and wastewater management, water resource management and urban infrastructure. As I am interested in other cultures and working environments, I spent one semester in Madras, India, and worked in Tokyo, Japan. At GFA, I started as a Young Professional in the Water Unit. They immediately sent me to Syria for three weeks, which was a big challenge! International experience and management skills are very important for my career, also for work in other engineering sectors here in Germany and abroad. Working at GFA is very flexible, I can work from everywhere, even when I'm on a sailing tour."

Katharina Graf
Consultant in the Latin America Department |
|
"At GFA you are offered possibilities you hardly find in bureaucratic structures. After two years as a Young Professional, I got the chance to become a team leader of a project in Mozambique. The international context of our work makes it very colorful: I started in the Africa Department, went on my first assignment to Indonesia and am now working in the Latin America Department. And, while I am changing from one regional context to the next, I always have the chance to keep developing my skills in my specific core area: capacity building programs in a private sector environment."
