This year we have changed our name from “C³ Training Unit” to “C³ Unit for Better Learning”. You may ask – what was wrong with training? The answer is: Nothing! However, we think the new name shows our shift in perspective - from training to learning – from the trainer to the learner. This new name is more representative for our general attitude towards our work: It’s all about the participant and her or his perspective and needs!

December 2015 C³ training schemes in Africa C3 Newsletter
This newsletter lies a focus on C³ training schemes in Africa, telling different success stories from South Africa, Eastern Africa and Zimbabwe. Also in this issue some thoughts about how showing personal recognition and respect to the learner should be understood as a fundamental attitude of a professional involved in adult education. According to Prof. Müller-Commichau’s concept of a pedagogy of recognition, this goes beyond the actual teaching-learning process.

December 2014 Didactical reduction – a challenge in course design C3 Newsletter
In recent years C³ trainers have been developing increasingly specialized training manuals, often associated with train-the-trainer schemes. When doing so, our trainers usually team up with subject experts to select and prepare key content. Often, one of the main challenges faced while conceiving new courses is the fact that there is too much content for too little course time.

December 2013 C³ SCHOOL - C³ START - C³ TRAINER C3 Newsletter
2013 was marked by continuous interest shown by our project partners for the C³ training method. In this way the spectrum of courses and local trainers developed became even broader. Together with technical experts and based on the C³ action-oriented and experience-based training method, we developed training manuals with wide-ranging content and target groups worldwide. Examples include blood-safety for hospital staff in Turkey, fire safety for compliance officers in Bangladesh, marketing for micro-entrepreneurs in Mongolia, and school management for school staff in Ghana. December 2012 C³ Training in Afghanistan and in the Ukraine C3 Newsletter
Based on solid technical know-how of the C³ trainers, the C³ Training Unit developed 15 different manuals over the last decade. Over 3,000 C³ participants in 29 countries have had the chance to learn more than if they had participated in “conventional” lecture settings. June 2011 C³ Public Sector C3 Newsletter
Initially C³ was developed to serve trainees and trainers in the private sector. Today the C³ methodology is also applied to capacity development of public sector stakeholders. The training package enhances participants’ ability for decision making and for taking action in today’s increasingly complex environment. In return, this secures a higher rate of administrative efficiency and improved governance.
