December 2016 Refugees, displacement and migration GFA Newsletter
The ongoing refugee and migration crisis is one of the most profound global challenges of our time. An end to the crisis is not in sight as wars, armed conflicts, political repressions, violations of human rights, terrorism and food shortages as root causes for displacement continue to exist. GFA tackles the issue in a technical working group labeled Refugees & Migration. The current newsletter shares the insights we have gained so far.

September 2016 Public Finance Management department at GFA GFA Newsletter
The debate on aid effectiveness reached its peak with the Paris Declaration in 2005 and resulted in the Sustainable Development Goals in 2015. GFA reacted by establishing a Public Finance Management Department (PFM) in July 2015 that concentrates professional skills and creates synergies worldwide. Operational for more than a year, the department has become a success as it won new projects worldwide and diversified its portfolio.

Youth unemployment does not only lead to economic imbalances and widens the gap between the rich and the poor but also severely contributes to political instability. Country-specific medium-term strategies have to be defined in order to fight this dilemma.
