GFA signs the UN Global Compact

In February 2018, GFA has become a signatory of the UN Global Compact (UNGC). With its declaration of commitment, GFA undertakes to pursue integrity in its company management, and to dedicate itself to doing business equitably and sustainably. GFA will report to UNGC annually on its activities towards promoting sustainable development in the Communication on Progress (COP).

With over 12,000 businesses and organisations worldwide, the UNGC network is the world’s largest and most significant initiative for responsible business management. Based on its 10 universal principles on human rights, labour regulations, environment and the prevention of corruption, it pursues a vision of an inclusive and sustainable global economy for the benefit of all people, communities and markets, both today and in the future.

As an initiative of the United Nations, the UNGC presents a unique framework for discussing an equitable form of globalisation, and putting this vision into practice with suitable strategies and activities, across industries and borders. UNGC understands itself as an open forum to promote change and share ideas. It is neither a certifiable standard nor an instrument of regulation. Within the German Global Compact Network (DGCN), over 400 German participants can learn all about topics surrounding business responsibility, and work together towards practice-oriented solutions.
