On 1 March 2017, the Peruvian Agricultural Bank signed a contract with a consortium of GFA Consulting Group and Libélula Comunicación Ambiente y Desarrollo concerning the implementation of the project Combating Climate Change in Agriculture:  Support for Agrobanco strategy for mitigation and adaptation to climate change in rural Peru. The project is financed by the Latin American Investment Facility of the European Union and a 50 million Euro credit line provided by the French Development Agency (AFD). This will allow the bank to consolidate its portfolio of investment projects in efforts related to climate change.

Within the next four years, the consortium will develop activities to strengthen the bank’s institutional capacity, establish a Social and Environmental Risks Management System (SARAS), and identify potential clients who require financing for working capital or fixed assets for green projects.

In a ceremony attended by the director of the French Development Agency for Peru and Bolivia, and a representative of the European Union's cooperation in Peru, the agreement was signed by the president and the general manager of Agrobanco, and a representative of the consortium.
