KfW, 2015 - 2021
Contract value: 1,810,325 EUR

GFA assisted the National Department of Health to implement HIV counseling and testing (HCT) in the Eastern Cape and Mpumalanga region. The overall objective of this program was to contribute to the improvement of the health status of vulnerable populations and to reduce HIV transmission by offering HCT services. The project was implemented in close cooperation with the South African health development and social sector consulting firm, Africa Capability. HCT services specifically aim at reaching target audiences at hot spots such as informal settlements and rural areas showing high HIV rates. Other key population groups are men who have sex with men, transgender people, sex workers, injecting drug users, and migrants.
