Promotion of contract farming

The project improved the economic situation of smallholder farmers and agricultural enterprises through the establishment of a Refinancing Fund for Schemes of Contract Farming (SASC). GFA provided technical assistance in establishing and managing the Fund to provide credit to financial institutions enabling them to make medium and long-term credits available to smallholder farmers and agricultural enterprises. In addition, GFA supported financial operators to strengthen their capacity to analyse risks related to investments in the agricultural sector, and assisted in monitoring and evaluating the impact of the project.
