Laos
KfW, 2010 - 2017
Contract value: 2,034,087 EUR

GFA supported the pilot watershed management project in the Lower Mekong Basin, which was co-financed by KfW. Embedded in the Lao National Water Resources Policy and Strategy, 43 villages were assisted to establish and execute sustainable land use planning to improve their livelihood. Land registration of all areas was a key feature. Capacity building activities supported farmers to use appropriate irrigation systems, rangeland and aquatic resource management, and tree crop plantation development at the district and farm level. In addition, GFA experts established village-based delivery mechanism for small-scale productive investments.
