TVET capacity building and professional development training program
The program objective was to “increase the capacity of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) management and instructors in the banana belt to deliver quality training to students”. Teacher training institutions in Belize benefited from the contract by having their teacher training TVET courses reviewed and updated and staff trained. Instructors and vocational teachers, managers and private sector representatives received training in the fields of Competency Based Education and Training (CBET), leadership and others. The program also supported the teacher training institutions in Belize in reviewing and updating their training courses and the training of staff. The program layed the foundation for the national roll out of a modern TVET training program. They built the capacity of local teacher training institutions and implemented a professional development program for TVET management, instructors and private sector representatives.
