Projekt-Consult GmbH, a member of the GFA Group, has gained unique experience in consulting on responsible mining and sourcing minerals since 1979. The company possesses in-depth knowledge of the upstream extractive supply chain, with a focus on the people and countries involved in mining. Projekt-Consult is continually seeking to expand its network for short- or long-term assignments at various stages of our tendering processes (forecast, pre-qualification, request for tender submission) and for our projects already in the implementation phase. Job description
We´re currently looking for experts in
Finance & Investment – Raw Materials Sector
to support us in carrying out our projects and studies in the following areas:
- Improve Project Finance Readiness: Promote bankable feasibility studies, standardized financial models, and access to early-stage funding.
- Strengthen Investor Communication: Enhance data transparency and organize investor outreach through data provision, roadshows, and reporting standards.
- Mitigate Investment Risks: Support policies that reduce financial, political, and ESG risks of international investments.
- Build Institutional and Technical Capacity: Train public agencies and project developers in financial structuring, ESG compliance, and investor engagement.
- Promote Local Value and Market Access: Encourage downstream processing, shared infrastructure, and offtake agreements to strengthen domestic and international value chains.
Qualifications
- University degree (Master or PhD) in finance, economics, mining engineering or related fields ;
- Fluent in English; French, Spanish, Portuguese or other languages are a plus (especially for work in Africa or Latin America) ;
- Excellent communication and reporting skills.
General Professional Experience:
- At least 3 years of consulting or investment experience in the raw material sector (exploration, mining, refining) for private companies or public sector;
Specific professional experience:
- Building and reviewing bankable financial models and understanding of feasibility studies;
- Familiarity with project finance, blended finance, royalties, streaming, etc.;
- Experience with private equity, development finance institutions (DFIs), and institutional investors;
- Understanding of the financial needs of exploration and mining companies and downstream industries;
- Good understanding of the mining value chain: exploration, extraction, processing, marketing;
- Awareness of ESG standards (e.g. IFC Performance Standards) and their impact on financing;
- Promoting exploration and/or mining projects in emerging and developing countries
- Capacity to work across cultures and sectors.
