Project description

The “Forest Programme IV: Mamasa Watershed, Sulawesi” supports the Government of Indonesia to promote the rehabilitation of Mamasa watersheds and conservation of biodiversity in the Gandang Dewata landscapes in West Sulawesi, Indonesia. The four intended outputs of the programme are:

  • Strengthening the cooperation of key stakeholders to improve watershed management (in the Mamasa Watershed)
  • Strengthening of Forest Management in Selected KPHs in Project Area to Support Watershed Management
  • Empowering people in selected villages to support watershed management
  • Gandang Dewata National Park development and management

Job description

Requested consulting services include assistance to the Project Executing Agency (PEA) in the following tasks:

  • All managerial and administrative aspects of the delivery of the German contribution to the project (project planning and management, team management, financial management, procurement and project monitoring and evaluation);
  • Advise on sustainable and climate adaptive forest management and forest rehabilitation in the watershed and protected area planning and management;
  • Provide expertise on watershed landscape development and management and natural resources-based livelihoods development;
  • Close coordination with key project stakeholders to develop appropriate approaches for implementing the project;
  • Interactive, coordinated cooperation with other projects;
  • Design, organization and implementation of a capacity development strategy.


  • University degree in forestry / integrated water resources management / biodiversity conservation/ / rural development;
  • Proven work experience in forest management, watershed management, biodiversity conservation and rural development
  • Minimum ten years of professional work experience in development cooperation and donor funded projects
  • Minimum five years of experience as Chief Technical Advisor and team leader, preferably in financial cooperation of bilateral or multilateral donors or other leadership/ management experience in complex FC programs of bilateral or multilateral donors;
  • Experience in the management of projects, including planning, monitoring and evaluation, reporting, supervision of technical, administrative and logistical tasks, budget management, communication etc.;
  • Experience in the management of teams of experts of different technical backgrounds;
  • Professional work experience in South-East Asia, preferably in Indonesia;
  • Written and oral fluency in English is mandatory;
  • Good Knowledge in Bahasa Indonesia is considered essential.
