Projekt-Consult GmbH – as a member of the GFA Group – has gained a unique experience in consulting on responsible mining and sourcing of minerals since 1979. The company has in-depth knowledge of the upstream extractive supply chain, focusing on the people and countries involved in mining.
Projekt-Consult is constantly looking to expand its network for short or long-term assignments for the different stages of our tendering processes (forecast, pre-qualification, request for submitting a tender) and for our projects already in the implementation phase.

Job description
We´re currently looking for experts in
Mineral processing and in industrial policy development
to support us in carrying out our projects and studies in the following areas:
- To advise on the soundness and technical details of projects related to e.g. copper or nickel processing facilities, or e.g. studies for the development of a battery industry. Ability to produce and revise pre-, and feasibility studies;
- Formulation of policy options for development of downstream processes for different metals. Considerations of logistical needs for development of big downstream projects (Ports, logistics, roads, transport, desalination plants, etc.);
- To develop industrial policy options for diversification of the economy, including local content aspects;
- Development of programs (curricula, job descriptions, etc.) aiming to produce local workforce to fulfill the requirements of the evaluated projects;
- Integration of Environmental and Social aspects in the technical evaluations for the proposed projects.
Qualifications
- University degree (Master or PhD) in economics, mining or metallurgical engineering, with a focus on mineral processing of metals for the energy transition, or industrial policy development;
- Languages: Full proficiency in written and spoken English and at least one of the following languages: French, Spanish, Portuguese, Chinese and/or Russian;
- Excellent communication and reporting skills.
General Professional Experience:
- At least 5 years of work experience in one of the main tasks mentioned above in projects and studies financed by private companies or on behalf of development cooperation agencies and banks (GIZ, BGR, UN organisations, EU, WB, EBRD, Swiss Cooperation or others);
- Work experience in formulation and evaluation of industrial policy and/or evaluation of concrete mineral processing facilities;
- Regional experience: Sub-Sahara Africa (especially francophone), Central and/or South-east Asia or Latin America.
