North Macedonia's energy sector has seen significant engagement from various international donors and financial institutions, each contributing to the country's transition towards sustainable and efficient energy systems.
Specific objective: To accelerate climate change-related structural reforms in the energy sector.
The project is structured around three interlinked components designed to strengthen North Macedonia’s capacity to implement its green energy transition in line with the EU energy and climate acquis.
Component 2 – Reaching Out to Municipalities aims to empower local authorities as active drivers of the green transition. It will enhance the capacity of municipalities to plan, finance, and implement energy efficiency and renewable energy projects.
Component 3 – Improved Analysis of the Green Energy Transition will reinforce analytical and investment planning capacity of the country through technical and feasibility studies.
Key experts have a crucial role in implementing the contract. These terms of reference contain the minimum requirements for the key experts and will be linked to the three components above.
• Minimum Masters in a directly related discipline, or Bachelor in the same field plus four years of relevant professional experience.
• Excellent spoken and written English, corresponding to level C1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
General professional experience
• Minimum 8 but preferably 10 years of professional experience in a field related to energy.
Specific professional experience
• Experience in at least 3 assignments related to, inter alia, electricity such as legislative and institutional framework, electricity market, generation, RES integration, balancing, transmission, distribution, tariffs and price regulation, decarbonisation of the power system, energy communities, digitalisation.
• Experience on assignments in EU MS bodies or other contracting parties of the Energy Community Treaty, will be considered an advantage.
