Project description:
The “EU Latin American Partnership on Raw Materials” is an EU-funded project which brings together multiple stakeholders along the raw materials value chains that connect the EU and Latin America, to deliver on a green and climate-neutral economy. The project aims to integrate strategic industrial value chains for both regions, exploring new business models and delivering value for society, while keeping high environmental and social standards at the core of this partnership. The two main pillars of the project are:
 
-Ensuring continuity and further developing the Digital Mineral Development Network Platform (MDNP) as knowledge and networking hub;
-Organizing events (conferences and webinars) to promote cooperation and business links on the values of responsible and sustainable mining and sourcing;
For the current phase of the project, we are seeking an Expert on Latin American mining sector as a full or part-time position in home-office.

Job description

 Your responsibilities:
·Research, data collection and content drafting for updating the MDNP;
·Liaising with short-term experts, consortium partners and the client for the development of MDNP content
·Supervision and quality control of the periodic update of the project’s Country Fiches and SWOT analyses about the mining sector in the 7 project countries (Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Peru, Uruguay)
·Preparing technical concepts, and providing technical input and process support for the organization of the project’ webinars, conventions and participation at mining fairs;
·Providing technical and organizational input to the project team and client whenever necessary.

Qualifications

Your profile:
·University degree (Master or PhD) in public policy, sociology, economics, natural resource management, geology or a related area with a focus on mining or resource policies;
·At least 5 years of relevant working experience within the extractive sector or in mineral supply chain projects;
·Excellent knowledge of the Latin American mining sector;
·Know-how of project planning, management and evaluation methods;
·Advanced proficiency in standard MS Office applications, experience with digital innovations for project implementation is an asset;
·Strong writing, communication and presentation skills;
·Full proficiency in written and spoken English and Spanish; Portuguese would be an advantage;
·Ability to manage complex situations under tight schedules;
·Ability to work in intercultural teams.
