join the GFA team in Senegal as a Regional Hub Coordinator.
Your tasks
Regional Business Development:
- Maintain a line of communication with key clients of GFA, in particular EU, GIZ, KfW, and SDC/SECO, Enabel, etc. and ensure Hub participation in network meetings, events, or other relevant platforms to be visible in and the region and identify new / upcoming opportunities for GFA business development.
- Identify thematic and technical trends and specific business opportunities of the key clients of GFA as well as new donors.
- Plan and coordinate the implementation of activities to increase GFA visibility, e.g. through thematic or networking events, attend key events relevant for GFA.
- Coordinate the activities of the GFA Hub office in Senegal and manage the team members working on central services (Finance Manager and Office Administrator) and other Hub staff working for GFA projects and HQ in close cooperation with the Director Internationalization.
- In close cooperation with the Director Internationalization conduct annual performance reviews with Hub staff and coordinate all staffing matters for the Hub, including recruitment for new positions, replacements as well as terminations of contracts.
- Develop and plan the annual budget and business strategy.
- Establish standardized local working procedures and regulations for hub staff.
- Define objectives and KPIs for the GFA Hub office and oversee annual work planning.
- Serve as GFA’s country representative in Senegal for administrative matters, including security, compliance, banking, and tax-related issues, in close collaboration with the Finance Manager and relevant departments at GFA HQ (Advisory Unit (AU), International Tax and Registration (ITR)- Unit, etc.).
- Prepare quarterly reports on key activities, KPIs, and expenses for the Director Internationalisation in close coordination with the Finance Manager.
- Act as the main point of contact for technical and internal departments regarding project- and hub-related matters and requests.
- Maintain communication with team leaders and technical backstoppers for ongoing projects in the region.
- Monitor and ensure GFA’s compliance with local and regional regulations in collaboration with ITR.
Your profile
We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced professional to join our team. You are a results-driven and adaptable expert with a passion for development cooperation and project management. Your qualifications include:
- A Master’s degree in a relevant technical field aligned with GFA’s focus areas; a background in development cooperation is an advantage.
- At least 7 years of professional experience in development cooperation projects or consulting.
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience leading multi-disciplinary teams (5+ people), demonstrating strong leadership and coordination skills.
- Familiarity with GFA’s acquisition and project management processes is a plus.
- Knowledge of the German (GIZ, KfW) and European development sector (e.g., EuropeAid, EIB, EBRD) is an asset.
- Strong analytical and communication skills, with a hands-on approach and the ability to quickly grasp complex topics.
- Full fluency in French and English (written and spoken); working knowledge of German is an advantage.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and the ability to prepare high-quality reports and presentations.
- A collaborative mindset, adaptability, and problem-solving skills to navigate dynamic international environments.
- Willingness to travel regularly within the region and to Germany.
