Project description
GFA Consulting Group is recruiting Senior Finance Specialists to support Gavi-funded programs through Assurance Provider and Technical Assistance services, with a strong focus on financial management, compliance and capacity building.
Job description
The Senior Finance Specialist supports the government and implementing entities in meeting all end-to-end financial management requirements under Gavi grants.
Key responsibilities include:
- Review and strengthening of financial management procedures and internal controls
- Support to budgeting, forecasting and reprogramming processes
- Review and verification of payments for eligibility, accuracy and compliance
- Oversight of accounting, record keeping and financial reporting
- Analytical review of budget versus actual expenditures
- Support to audits (preparation, follow-up of findings and recommendations)
- Capacity building and on-the-job training of government and PMU finance staff
- Identification of financial risks and development of mitigation measures
Qualifications
- Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field
- Professional qualification (ACCA, CPA or equivalent) is a strong asset
- Minimum 6–8 years of experience in financial management or fiduciary oversight, preferably in Africa or Asia
- Experience with Gavi, Global Fund or other donor-funded programs
- Strong analytical and reporting skills
- Experience working with government counterparts
- Fluency in English; French and/or Portuguese are required
- Strong Excel and accounting system skills
