C³ training course in Serbia: New teaching approach about energy efficiency in schools in Serbia

Posted on 4 Jul, 2019 by Christine Fröhlich, Head of C³ Unit for Better Learning

In Kruševac GFA’s C³ Unit for Better Learning held a training workshop on improving energy efficiency (EE) in schools and households in May 2019. Activities are part of the Municipal Energy Efficiency and Management Project (MEEMP), which is supported by the Swiss Government and aims at strengthening human and institutional capacities in four Serbian municipalities.

The three-day pilot training course was implemented with 25 teachers from 15 schools of the municipality of Kruševac. It included theoretical lectures, interactive exercises and group work on the preparation of teaching material for students on energy efficiency (part one). During part two of the workshop teachers held six EE lessons in three schools with a total of 145 students. The third part consisted of teachers exchanging experiences they had made during classes, in order to then finalize detailed teaching plans for the six lessons on energy efficiency in schools and households.

Further courses on energy efficiency for school teachers will be rolled out in three other municipalities target of the MEEMP (Užice, Paraćin and Vrbas). Read more about on  MEEMP website.
