Enhancing job opportunities for Jordanian women

Since summer 2016, a team of GFA experts has been supporting the Jordan Ministry of Labour in enhancing job opportunities for Jordanian women. As part of GIZ’s Employment Promotion Project (EPP), GFA contributes towards boosting female employment all over the country, where women’s participation in the workforce is among the lowest in the MENA region. As part of the tenth exhibition of Women's Home Based Products in Amman during the first week of November 2017, Minister of Labour Ali Ghezawi launched a nationwide concept for Home Based Day Care, one of the project’s major milestones.

The concept was developed by the GFA technical assistance team in cooperation with the Ministry’s Women's Work Directorate, and includes draft regulations, training manuals and a mentoring concept. Home Based Day Care not only offers promising employment opportunities for women in Jordan, but also allows mothers to work while having their children taken care of in a safe and professional environment.
