GFA team and GIZ programme “Enabling Access to Justice, Civil Society Participation and Transparency” (EnACT) in Zambia win Techtrends Zambia Awards 2022
The GIZ programme “Enabling Access to Justice, Civil Society Participation and Transparency” (EnACT) in Zambia just won the Techtrends Zambia Awards 2022 under the category “Tech for Good”. The Techtrends Zambia Award is an annual event, which seeks to recognize technological advancements and personalities in Zambia.
Within this programme which aims to improve access to justice in Zambia, in particular for vulnerable groups, GFA was assigned to implement a needs assessment among legal aid providers in Lusaka, Copperbelt and Southern provinces, a scoping of the Legal Tech system in Zambia and the facilitation of Zambia’s first regional LegalTech Conference. During the LegalTech Conference stakeholders cocreated different innovative digital tools for the legal aid sector. As a result, the GFA project team identified recommendations for LegalTech which included piloting digital tools that can support the delivery of legal aid services in Zambia through paralegals working at Legal Service Units, Police Stations or Correctional Facilities.
