Support to Reforms - Environmental Governance (StREG) – closing ceremony in Beirut

On Tuesday December 19th, 2017, the Closing Ceremony of the European Union-funded project ‘Support to Reforms- Environmental Governance (StREG)’ took place at the Radisson Blu Hotel, in Ein el Mraisse, Beirut.

The event started with the National Anthem.  Later, the Project Director and acting Team Leader Mrs. Constanze Schaaff (GFA), the Senior Policy Expert Dr. Lamia Mansour, the Fiscal Policy Expert, Dr. Joy Hecht, and the Policy Analyst Mr. Ahmad Osman talked briefly about the objectives of project and how they were achieved.More than 80 people attended the event, including all the advisors of the Minister, representing him, as well as the Project Administration Office at the Council of Ministers. After the presentation, the UNDP Advisor at the Ministry of Environment, Dr. Manal Mousallem thanked the European Union and the EU citizens for their support to the StREG project and the StREG team members individually. Afterwards, the Senior Advisor to the Minister, Mr. Jacques Khalil, thanked the EU and the StREG team on behalf of the Minister. The PAO at the Council of Ministers, Mrs. Lamia Chamas emphasized the importance of the project and how it will leave a huge positive impact on the Ministry.

In the end of the ceremony, the employees of the Ministry of Environment expressed their interest in hosting similar beneficial projects at the Ministry in the future.
