Bank downscaling, phase II
After the successful implementation of the first phase of the downscaling project, the project aimed to further reduce the MSME finance gap in the country. In collaboration with the Moroccan Bankers Association (GPBM), GFA provided technical assistance to Banque Populaire (BP) and CIH Bank (CIH) to build up their MSME finance capacities and expertise. The second phase of the project built on previous experience in developing tailored MSME lending products and focused on the implementation and consolidation of these products and services as well as the development and application of a marketing concept, a loan tracking system as well as policies and procedures suitable for MSME lending. This included intensive training and coaching of loan officers as well as the design and implementation of a training of trainers (ToT) program to ensure the roll-out throughout the banks’ branch networks.
