Climate friendly modernization of Industry Donezk

The objective of the project was to implement an Energy Management System (EnMS) in selected enterprises in the Donezk region. The expected outcome was the reduction of GHG emissions through the introduction of effective resource and energy management as part of the daily business of the industries in the Donezk region. The way of achieving the emission reductions should have a model character and be able to be replicated in the whole industry of Ukraine, which would support the achievement of the goals of the international climate protection. The project consisted of three components:

  • Identification of companies to assess baseline data on resource use, energy consumption and GHG emissions;
  • introduction of a resource and energy management system for sustainable exploitation of energy efficiency potentials; and
  • development and dissemination of best practices and capacity building for energy managers and service providers.
