Multi-country
GIZ, 2014 - 2015
Contract value: 173,520 EUR

The project aimed at creating and expanding capacities of the RE / EE department within the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) for screening the existing project-pipeline for feasible investment projects. The individual measure was implemented in close cooperation with the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB), which disburses credits in the CARICOM region.
The measure aimed to increase the number of loans granted for the implementation of RE and EE projects in the Caribbean region. For this, the CDB has been enabled to assess appropriate credit inquiries competently and thus improve the investment climate for RE and EE projects. The project pursued the approach of direct advice to the Bank at various levels.

Support the CDB, to officially situate RE / EE within the bank’s agenda through the setup of a specialized unit.

Existing and new employees in the energy area should be enabled by different measures to evaluate RE/EE projects in the future independently.

Furthermore, the CDB has been enabled to take strategically a position within the Caribbean regarding RE/EE and be the contact point of choice.
