Decentralization and good governance, phase 1
GFA was responsible for implementing two components of the GIZ Decentralization and Good Governance program in Niger. The program aimed at fostering public participation in local decision making and development processes. Improving the provision of public services and making the regional administrative bodies more efficient and client-oriented was another objective. The GFA team of experts assisted elected institutions and technical services as well as civil society organizations in 140 municipalities in three focal areas.
