Employment promotion in Jordan: Improving the supply of employment policy measures for women

Jordan
GIZ, 2016 - 2022
Contract value: 2,749,105 EUR

The aim of this project is to promote women employment by expanding the range of employment policy measuresĀ in five identified sectors with particular potential for the employment of disadvantaged women. For this purpose, self-employment and advanced training modules are developed and implemented within the fields of home based child care, health care, clean technology, productive kitchen and traditional handicrafts. Promoting (self-)employment in these sectors provide for both, the employment of women and the much-needed child care services which otherwise remain unavailable and present a significant challenge for women to seek employment in general. Furthermore, job placement services are developed and implemented in order to increase the probability for successful job matches and the overall employment of women. The development and implementation of these initiatives are carried out in close coordination with business organizations, networks, individual companies and the Ministry of Labor (MoL).
