Go circular – for climate and clean oceans - plastic treaty assist toolkit
The global Plastics Treaty was negotiated within the framework of an International Negotiating Committee (INC). The negotiations indicated that for the implementation of the core commitments of the agreement, signatory countries were expected to develop and implement National Action Plans (NAPs). This represented a major challenge for GIZ/BMZ partner countries, which was why there is an increased demand from the political environment for support in the INC process and the resulting commitments. The project aimed to develop a Plastic Treaty Assist Toolkit as well as capacity building workshops in Latin Amecia, ASEAN and Africa, to support the partner countries in the INC nogiciation process and the implementation of the legally binding plastic treaty within their local regulations
