Improving the quality of vocational training by system - involvement of the private sector
The project aims to improve the employability of Kosovar youth by supporting the capacities of vocational schools, the Kosovo Employment Agency and local employment offices, and private sector companies and institutions. We also support the active engagement of companies in vocational education and training, the introduction of school development plans, the integration of labor market-relevant regular and extracurricular provision in secondary and vocational schools, and the organization and development of the employment agency. The project aims to better align vocational training courses with the needs of the labor market by improving connections to the business community and fostering links. With the help of trained instructors in the companies, participants can successfully complete the in-company component of the training. Altogether, at least 800 vocational students at 10 vocational schools will spend an average of 40% of their practical training time in companies.
To achieve this goal, the partner institution (chamber or sector association) will provide training for 50 in-company trainers through certified master trainers. The number of cooperations between vocational schools and companies will also be increased. In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, but also the general need to modernize educational approaches and methods, this project improves teachers digital skills and promotes the introduction of digital tools and instruments that enable teachers to design modern lessons with digital learning components. The project works in four work packages:
- Support of vocational schools in the implementation of cooperative training.
- Qualification of vocational school teachers
- Support of trade associations and chambers for active participation in vocational education and training; support of vocational schools in the implementation of cooperative training.
- Implementation of vocational career guidance services at vocational schools.
