Madagascar National Parks (MNP) Investment Fund

Madagascar
KfW, 2009 - 2014
Contract value: 3,230,367 EUR

A rebranding process from ANGAP (Association pour la Gestion des Aires Protégées) to Madagascar National Parks (MNP) had been launched to present the organization as a modernized and efficient organism able to face economic and business challenges and thus being a sustainable, interesting and trustful partner for investors. MNP strongly depended on international donor structures, most of whom quit cooperation due to the political developments in Madagascar between 2009 and end 2013. In a long-term pespective, MNP were to be partly financed by a multi-donor fund and were expected to be able to increase their income from the parks.
KfW supported MNP in this development and made available an investment fund of 7 million euros (first part).
