Post-conflict reconstruction

KfW had committed EUR 10 million to support the African Union in their efforts to achieve peace and security. The goal was to reduce conflicts and achieve continental peace and security by strengthening both the framework of the African Peace and Security Architecture (APSA) and the institutionalized cooperation between the African Union and the Regional Economic Communites, starting with COMESA. GFA supported the African Union Commision with the conceptual groundwork and implementation of the funding window, including operationalizing Post-Conflict Reconstruction and Development (PCRD) and Dismarmament, Demobilization and Reintegration (DDR) policies.
