Pregnancy and Nutrition - eLearning course
Within the framework of the Muskoka Initiative on Maternal, Newborn and Child Health, this eLearning course on pregnancy and nutrition was developed in French on behalf of P-Didakt (for GIZ). It served as a complementary, self-study learning tool for student midwives in Cameroon to further improve their knowledge and counselling skills on health and nutrition before, during and after preg-nancy.
The eLearning course was made accessible in three midwifery schools in Cameroon in form of a pilot via the learning platform "Sage Femme Zone" (Midwives zone), a Moodle-based learning management system. Having proven successful during the pilot phase, the course will be rolled out in all 10 state-approved midwifery schools and integrated into the national midwifery curriculum. It now serves as a benchmark for the development of further e-learning modules and shows how an interactive as well as visually compelling e-learning module can be created and duplicated locally with the present technical limitations.
