Strengthening the capacities of the African Commission on Human and Peoples Rights

The project aimed at increasing the capacities of the Secretariat of the African Commission on Human and Peoples’ Rights which provided technical support to the Commission.  Three legal experts with practical experience in the African human rights systems as well as short-term experts provided advisory services for organizational development and human rights issues. Their task was to reduce case backlogs and to identify and prepare cases  suit­able for referral to the African Human Rights Court.
