The overall program objective was to improve the enabling conditions for the implementation of sustainable urban development policies according to the Agenda 2030, the New Urban Agenda, and the Paris Climate Agreement. The consortium provided technical advice to academic and research institutions. Academic and research institutions provided practice-oriented contributions to sustainable urban development in accordance with the international agenda. The services delivered by the consortium were subdivided into three interrelated intervention areas: 

  1. Involvement of academic and research institutions in the elaboration, implementation and monitoring of a National Agenda for Sustainable Urban Development.
  2. Demand and practice oriented research and scientific advice for sustainable urban development.
  3. Human Capacity Development for practitioners and policy makers at national and local level within the frame of the National Agenda for Sustainable Urban Development.
