Training of supervisors in the component "Strengthening Ukrainian Communities for receiving internally displaced people"
The component "Strengthening Ukrainian Communities for Receiving Internally Displaced People" of the Special Initiative Ukraine of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) addressed the core problem of communities inability to properly care for IDPs while maintaining services for the local population. The component focused on the administrative regions of Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk and Zaporizhzhya. Within the component, the Psychosocial Support and Conflict Management project addressed the needs of beneficiaries as well as the needs of actors in the field of psychosocial services and non-violent conflict resolution. Strengthening the psychosocial support and conflict management skills of service providers, be they government services, civil society organizations or voluntary initiatives, was identified as one of the most urgent needs. This included supervision and burnout prevention processes for the service providers themselves.
GFA was awarded a portion of this component, which aimed to improve the capacity of professionals in the social, education, health and emergency response sectors to deal with the increased tensions through the implementation of a training of trainers in supervision.
