Intermediated lending operation for small and medium agri-food sector investments integrating smallholders

Kenya
EIB, 2020 - 2024
Contract value: 1,014,240 EUR

As part of a consortium, GFA supports the delivery of an EIB financial sector operation and the supporting blended and grant finance provided under the broader EU Kenya Agri-FI program. The program is expected to strengthen the capacity of up to two Kenyan financial institutions on the Inclusive Business Model approach, by providing guidance and tools on integrating women and men smallholders into agricultural value chains and foster value chain investments. Through targeted capacity building to the participating financial institutions in the fields of value chain finance, product development and process enhancement, GFA strengthens their capacities to assess, execute and monitor longer-term investment projects in agri-food value chains and identify and monitor inclusive business models. Comprehensive marketing and outreach capacities increase awareness among final beneficiaries towards the effective use of EIB’s credit lines.
