The Technical Cooperation (TC) Team for the Wastewater Management (WWM) Component 2: Capacity Development in WWM

In 2004 the GTZ commissioned the GFA Consulting Group GmbH with the implementation of the TC Wastewater Management Component.

The office of the WWM Team is located in the premises of the Ministry of Construction in Hanoi. The team comprises around 30 long term and short term experts, both Vietnamese and expatriate staff. To learn more about our experts, please click The Team.

It is the team’s objective to transfer knowledge and skills to the Vietnamese partner organizations, in particular to the participating local service providers, to enable efficient and economic management of existing as well as future wastewater and drainage assets.

Active participation of the concerned managers and employees of the partner organizations are the guiding principles for the implementation of organizational assessments and all aspects of project related planning. The transfer of skills and knowledge is carried out through the application of coaching, which assures that participants are structuring and formulating project related outputs. Communication is a major issue; hence, our local experts are the key elements for the success of our efforts. They are the front runners and implementers as they work closely with our Vietnamese partners.

Our international short-term consultants are providing “best practices” for financial management, tariff establishment, customer relations management, community participation management, asset management, and human resource management. However, our Vietnamese experts assist our expatriate consultants to obtain a better understanding of the feasibility of inputs and concepts.
