Christoph Schaefer-Kehnert, Managing Director of GFA Consulting Group (photo left), took over the chair of the Development Policy Task Force of the Federation of German Industry (BDI) on 17 April, 2013. He is also member of VBI, the German Association of Consulting Engineers and has been a long time member of the task force. The BDI Development Policy Task Force exists since 2006.
World Consumer Rights Day on 15 March 2013 gained a special meaning for parents in Montenegro. The EU-financed Consumer Protection and Market Surveillance project implemented by GFA staged public events on safety features of toys and childcare products and a TV campaign on consumer rights. Experts from the Market and Health-Sanitary Inspection provided information on dangerous products found in Montenegrin markets and made shoppers aware of their rights as consumers.

Since 2008, the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources in the Dominican Republic has been conducting a program on sustainable management of water and forest resources that is co-financed by KfW. GFA assists the program by advising the Vice Ministry of Forest Resources. On 12 February, 2013 the Deutsche Welle TV program "Global Ideas" presented a documentary on this initiative for its English, Spanish and German speaking viewers worldwide.
