The project organized a study tour to Germany for our Vietnamese partners from June 7th to 17th 2007, with 16 participants from the Ministry of Construction, Provincial People’s Committees and the directors of the provincial service providers. The participants met German wastewater operators to learn about operation and maintenance procedures, tariff setting and other related management objectives. They visited wastewater treatment plants and construction sites. A particular highlight of the study tour was to learn from experiences in transforming public service providers from a socialist orientation into a market orientation.
