Handing-over of basic O&M Equipment to Wastewater Companies

The lack of proper and safe equipment is one of the major reasons for the desolate condition sewerage systems in Vietnam’s cities are in. In order to be able to conduct the program’s training modules on operation and maintenance of wastewater assets, at least a basic set of tools and equipment are required to be available.

Therefore, in September 2009 a first batch of basic equipment for the operation and maintenance (O&M) of wastewater collection systems was handed over to the six wastewater companies participating in the program. Along with the official handing-over ceremonies, workers of the companies’ O&M divisions were trained on the correct and safe use of the new equipment.
