Conference on Decentralized Wastewater Treatment dated 8 December 2010 in Hanoi
The Ministry of Construction together with Deutsche Gesellschaft fuer Technische Zusammenarbeit (GTZ) had the pleasure to host participants from many national and international organisations, institutions and companies to the Conference on Decentralized Waste Water Treatment and Management in Urban Areas in Viet Nam on December 8, 2010, in Hanois Hilton Hotel.
This conference, organised by GFA consulting group and IESE, aimed at high-lighting the specific advantages of decentralised, urban waste water treatment in order to complement large-scale centralised systems that do not reach out into the suburbs and new residential areas. The audience learned about the latest developments in Vietnam, and had the chance to discuss the way forward to sustainable and improved urban sanitation. Representatives from Asian Development Bank and the Finnish Water & Sanitation Programme contributed views from the donors.
The WWM Project will continue the work on decentralised sanitation, also based on the results of this conference.
