Background
In June 2007, the Technical Cooperation Project “Wastewater and Solid Waste Management in Provincial Centers” (WWM) conducted a study tour to Germany to exchange experiences in the field of water supply and wastewater management in various city centers of the Federal Republic of Germany. The delegation of this study tour included high level officials of the Ministry of Construction and representatives of six participating provinces from the Peoples Committees and the directors of the related water supply and sewerage companies, respectively public works companies.
Following this successful study tour, the WWM project is now organizing a national study tour to Thu Dau Mot city, located in the province of Binh Duong, to exchange experience on institutional and organizational matters and to compare between domestic experience and international practices.
Objective
The objective of this national study tour is to learn more about the combined organizational model of an urban public service company providing three basic urban public services under one roof, including: water supply, wastewater disposal and treatment, and solid waste collection and treatment. Understanding the advantages and challenges for that type of organization in terms of establishment and management is a focal point of the visit.

Transport and Accommodation

WWM will reimburse air tickets for the participants from Hai Duong, Bac Ninh and Vinh

WWM will arrange hotel accommodation for all participants for 2 nights on 16th and 17th March

WWM will invite the host and the participants for a luncheon on Monday March 17
-
All other expenses will be included in the per-diem of 200.000VND/person/night (paid based on hotel receipt)
Means of Transport

Participants from Hai Duong and Bac Ninh will travel by plane to HCMC and by taxi to Binh Duong

Participants from Vinh will travel by air plane directly from Vinh city to HCMC and by taxi to Binh Duong
-
Participants from Hai Duong, Bac Ninh and Vinh will by reimbursed for their taxi bill, at cost, for transport between HCMC – Binh Duong and back
-
Participants from Can Tho, Soc Trang and Tra Vinh will be paid a lump sum of 3.000.000VND/province for transport to and back Binh Duong
