In the scope of the BMZ special initiative "Stabilisation Northern Africa, Near East", the measure "Participation through employment – facilitating access to the labour market" contributed to youth employment in Egypt.
The project aimed at improving the employment situation for young Egyptians.
The programs three fields of intervention were:

1. Establishing an employment services structure
2. Improving employment quality
3. Innovative approaches

GFA was in charge of intervention 2 aiming at strengthening the capacities of the Federation of Economic Development Association (FEDA) in order to improve the quality of employment in SMEs.
The focus was on: Assist FEDA in developing a model for demand-oriented services serving to improve the quality of employment in SMEs; support FEDA in developping and testing service portfolios for improving the quality of employment, and strengthen FEDAs capacities and regional and local association structures in the Suez-Canal region with regard to its concept, management, organisation & controlling as well as in the implementation of the range of services.
