2nd Workshop on National Level in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina

One day after the Final European INSPIRATION Conference in Sarajevo, on 7th November 2013, the 2nd National INSPIRE Workshop was a good occasion for the two Cadastral agencies from Bosnia and Herzegovina to gather many of their employees, to participate at the workshop. It was as well a good opportunity for other stakeholders of spatial data infrastructure in Bosnia and Herzegovina to jump in the coordinated cooperation aimed at ensuring appropriate spatial data and services available where and when needed. Due to the fact that some of the participants of the workshop were not familiar with topics such as Spatial data infrastructure, INSPIRE Directive, EU legal framework etc., INSPIRATION project’s experts presented these themes despite the fact they were already elaborated in the 1st National INSPIRE Workshop in Mostar.

The workshop was opened by INSPIRATION’s team leader Fritz Kroiss, representative of the Republic Authority for Geodetic and Property Affairs (RAGPA) of Republika Srpska Darko Miskovic and Zeljko Obradovic, Director of the Federal Administration for Geodetic and Real Property Affairs (FAGRPA). After welcome address Zeljko Obradovic had presentation about the status of establishment of spatial data infrastructure (SDI) in Federation BiH. Fritz Kroiss, as an experienced legal expert, presented on the EU Legal Framework. Andja Zimic informed participants about the Swedish bilateral cooperation project in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as on the Lantmäteriet (Swedish Cadastral Agency) mission and position in Sweden and abroad.

In the afternoon session, Slobodanka Kljucanin, INSPIRATION’s local expert presented her findings from the National Report, which she assembled as part of the Component 1 of the project. Report on the status in the field of SDI at the Republic Authority for Geodetic and Property Affairs (RAGPA) of Republika Srpska (RS) was presented by Darko Miskovic.
One of the INSPIRATION’s key experts, Ivica Skender, gave two presentations - “Introduction to SDI” and “INSPIRE - Overview on state of play”. The final two presentations were about the recently introduced Software for cadastre in BiH. The topic presented Nedzad Pasalic on behalf of the FBiH, and Darko Miskovic on behalf of the RS. Workshop was closed with motivating discussion and question & answer session that showed participants were very much interested in presented topics
