In the one of the most beautiful towns in Bosnia and Herzegovina - Mostar, on 16
th and 17
th May, two important events took place - the 1
st National INSPIRE Workshop and INSPIRE Day. Both one-day workshop and INSPIRE day were opened by Zeljko Obradovic, Director of the Federal Administration for Geodetic and Real Property Affairs, Dragan Macanovic who represented the newly appointed director of Republic Authority for Geodetic and Property Affairs, and Fritz Kroiss, INSPIRATION's team leader.
During the morning session of the workshop Establishment of Spatial Data Infrastructure in Federation BiH and in Republika Srpska were presented by Nedzad Pasalic and Dragan Macanovic. Hajrudin Mičivoda gave interesting presentation on the Water Information System of Fedaration of BiH. Ivica Skender provided an overview of INSPIRATION Project - main goals, results and approach, as well as of the current activities. In the afternoon session Slobodanka Kljucanin presented the work on the Country Legal and Institutional Report. Her presentation sparked interesting discussion on topics such as West Herzegovina Canton geoportal, cadastre of The Herzegovina-Neretva Canton and the Rulebook on Water Information System. Afterwards, EU Legal framework was introduced by Fritz Kroiss and Spatial Data Infrastructure concept by Martin Koska. At the end of the workshop useful Q&A discussion followed focusing on topics mainly related to NSDI and Land Administration.
After formal opening of the INSPIRE Day on 17
th May Zeljko Obradovic presented projects and activities of Federal Administration for Geodetic and Real Property Affairs and Dragan Macanović projects and activities of Republic Authority for Geodetic and Property Affairs. Hanka Mušinbegović, assistant Minister at Federal Ministry of Physical Planning gave the presentation titled Establishment of Spatial Data Infrastructure in Federation BiH. Ivica Skender gave the INSPIRE Directive overview and Martin Koska and Fritz Kroiss presented on implementations of INSPIRE Directive in Slovakia and Austria. In the end, more than 60 participants discussed issues that were raised during INSPIRE day, mostly by posing questions to the speakers and giving their comments and opinions.
INSPIRE Day programme was closed with the invitation to an informal event - visit to Međugorje.
