Under Activity 1.3. of the INSPIRATION project seven SDI Legislation Recommendation Reports have been finalized.
To the each Beneficiary Country project provided individualized national report in which legislative improvements are especially addressed in order to ensure the alignment of national legal implementations with the requirements of the INSPIRE Directive.
Seven Reports are result of long, sustainable and persistent joint work of INSPIRATION project team, experts and stakeholders in all countries. Reports are strictly adapted to the needs and circumstances in every country and take into account issues of special interest highlighted by the beneficiaries in the course of the project.
 
The reports comprise elements from the list below depending on the individual countries´ needs:

• In-depth description of the situation of NSDI implementation in each country, based on the SDI Legislation Framework Analysis (activity 1.1):

- Review of the national legislation regarding the implementation of a NSDI framework including data sharing arrangements
- Identification and description of the NSDI bodies and the local institutional framework in the country;
- Description of the country’s NSDI implementation strategy and roadmap;
- Overview of the level of NSDI implementation (in terms available network services, spatial data and metadata).

• Recommendations for future developments towards an NSDI, which provides added value for the society, covering the following aspects:

- Alignment of the national legislation with the requirements of the INSPIRE Directive (recommendations may include drafted basic articles or other support to ongoing law making activities);
- Improvement of data sharing arrangements;
- Adjustment of the institutional setup to ensure fitness for future INSPIRE implementation and to meet economic and social needs;
- Requirements-driven improvement of the national NSDI strategy to ensure a timely implementation and operationalisation of the NSDI (including NSDI vision, prioritization of implementation tasks)
- Improve the availability of spatial data and metadata (e.g. by simplifying the provision of network services)
 
Below you can download national reports and a short English language summary for all countries. Montenegro and Kosovo* reports are currently in the process of finalisation and will be uploaded once the final version is available.
