Development of UNDP-GEF Full-Size Energy Efficiency Project

Serbia
UNDP, 2014 - 2015

GFA SEE supported UNDP Serbia in developing a UNDP-GEF energy efficiency project entitled “Removing Barriers to Promote and Support Energy Management Systems in Municipalities (EMS) throughout Serbia.” The United Nations Development Program (UNDP), acting as an implementing agency of the Global Environment Facility (GEF), developed the project idea together with the Republic of Serbia’s Ministry of Mining and Energy (MoME). The goal was to provide assistance with removing barriers to promote and support energy management systems in Serbian municipalities, thereby reducing fossil fuel consumption and associated greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in Serbia. UNDP Serbia contracted GFA SEE to prepare all required documentation to ensure GEF CEO endorsement of the project.
