2nd Workshop on National Level and INSPIRE Day in Belgrade, Serbia

The INSPIRE Day followed the 6th Regional Conference on Cadastre and Spatial Data Infrastructure in Belgrade and was held on 5th June. Most of the audience were students and professors of the Universities and high schools related to the topics.

Fritz Kroiss, Team leader of the INSPIRATION Project,  and Saša Đurović, Assistant Director of RGA Serbia, opened INSPIRE day with welcome speeches after which Ivica Skender presented the general overview of the INSPIRE Directive. Fritz Kroiss elaborated on main goals, results and activities of INSPIRATION project and Christian Ansorge on Socio Economic benefits of data sharing.

Second part of the INSPIRE day begun with presentation of Miro Govedarica who spoke on Implementation of spatial information system of the Republic Administration for Geodetic and Property Affairs of the Republic of Srpska, with many comparisons with the situation in Serbia. Vojkan Gajovic gave a presentation titled Towards national SDI: contribution of local communities. Three interesting presentations followed from the representatives of RGA, Serbia; Dejan Vasic on Remote Sensing applications, Predrag Zivic on Real Estate Cadastre web service – KNWeb and Dragica Pajic on Serbian Geoportal and the IGIS projects web portals. Before formal closing and discussion Ivica Skender presented Business opportunities and risks related to INSPIRE.

Two - day second National INSPIRE Workshop, 6th and 7th June, started with opening words by Saša Đurovic and Fritz Kroiss. Morning session on SDI Licensing was covered by INSPIRATION project team Fritz Kroiss, Christian Ansorge and Ivica Skender.
Afternoon session with National presentations begun with Usage of a GIS tools in local administration by Jozsef Csipa from Standing Conference of Towns and Municipalities, Serbia. Dejan Đorđević from Serbian Armed Forces presented the Role of Ministry of Defence and Serbian Armed Forces in production and sharing geodata within NSDI and Jelena Matic Varenica from RGA presented Products from the IGIS project RGA. First day was closed short Question & Discussions session.

Second day of the workshop covered three major working sessions; SDI Law, Serbian National Study and INSPIRE brochure. First session was run by Tomislav Ciceli who presented  Croatian SDI law which transposed INSPIRE directive into national legislation. Second session focused on presentation and discussion of the status and interim results and recommendations of the Serbian National Study and was held by Ivan Aleksic and Fritz Kroiss. In the last session Christian Ansorge and Tijana Andrejic presented current status of INSPIRE brochure and during discussion collected participants' comments and opinions for brochure's future development
