Tianzhu mountains biodiversity conservation project (Anhui IV)

The project is part of the Sino-German Biodiversity and Natural Resources Program, which is co-financed by KfW and aims to improve the management and conservation of natural resources in accordance with the principles of international sustainability standards. The specific objective of the Tianzhu Mountain Biodiversity Conservation Project is to conserve the biodiversity of the Tianzhu Mountain National Forest Park and to limit the risks of forest fires, pests and damage to biodiversity from increased tourism. Expected project outcomes include the transformation of monoculture coniferous forest into mixed deciduous forest, the establishment of botanical gardens, and the establishment of an effective fire management and biodiversity monitoring system. Local capacities for biodiversity conservation will also be strengthened.
