The recruitment and long-term binding of suitable experts for tenders and projects through proactive approach and regular contact with the experts of our ongoing projects is one of the essential tasks in our business and a prerequisite for our success.

As part of the GFA Recruitment Department you closely work with mainly one of our technical departments and are the direct link between GFA and the experts to be selected for our projects. You are also ready to recruit top candidates for our offices in Hamburg and represent GFA externally.

Your tasks

  • Conduct expert searches and proactively identify and approach qualified candidates worldwide
  • Maintain, regularly update, and continually expand our expert database
  • Collaborate closely with technical departments to gain a deep understanding of the specific technical and procedural aspects of their work
  • Sustain close contact with experts engaged in ongoing projects through various channels (telephone, video calls, email, etc.), thereby fostering a robust and sustainable expert network
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for experts regarding their professional development within our department and throughout GFA
  • Be prepared to travel to our project countries to attend or co-organize special events such as donor and expert conferences and fairs 

Your profile

  • University degree 
  • At least 2-3 years of relevant work experience in recruiting or/and in the context of development cooperation 
  • Knowledge in the field of international personnel recruitment and acquisition is desirable
  • Strong ability to develop strategies for building, maintaining, and nurturing expert relationships
  • Excellent communication skills, quick comprehension and flexibility
  • Very good spoken and written English skills and proficiency in French or Spanish; knowledge of German is a strong asset
  • Confident handling of the common MS Office applications (Word/Excel/Outlook)
  • Experience in working with databases is a strong asset
  • Ability to maintain an overview and meet deadlines even during peak workload periods
