Project description

The overall objective of the project is to support the implementation of the EU–Bangladesh Multi-annual Indicative Programme (MIP) 2021–2027 by contributing to reforms carried out by the Government of Bangladesh and facilitating the implementation of EU strategic priorities in the country through flexible technical assistance and support operations.

Job description

The Team Leader will coordinate project implementation, manage multidisciplinary expert teams, ensure high-quality delivery of technical assistance, and liaise closely with the EU Delegation, government counterparts, civil society, and development partners.

Qualifications

Qualifications and skills 

  • A Master’s degree in business administration and/or in a discipline relevant to the scope of this assignment, particularly in areas prioritised under the EU-Bangladesh Multi-annual Indicative Programme (MIP) (e.g. renewable energy, green transition, sustainable economic development, SMEs, digitalisation, governance reforms, private sector development, gender, etc.), or in the case of a Bachelor’s degree, additional 4 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Excellent command of oral and written English (C1).
  • Proficiency in Bangla.
  • Certifications in Project Management (e.g. PRINCE2, PM2) or Development Cooperation would be considered an asset. 
General professional experience 

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in project management and/or technical assistance within international development cooperation in developing country / countries. 
Specific professional experience 

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in leading and managing multinational teams with multi-sectoral/multidisciplinary focus.
  • Experience in managing projects in the field of this contract (support measures, technical assistance facility) will be considered an asset.
  • Relevant expertise in one or more of the EU-Bangladesh Multi-annual Indicative Programme (MIP) priority areas (e.g. renewable energy, green transition, sustainable economic development, SMEs, digitalisation, governance reforms, private sector development, gender, etc.) will be considered an asset.
  • Experience with EU development cooperation frameworks and in managing EU-funded programmes under the EU rules, procedures, and reporting requirements, will be considered an asset.
  • Experience from Bangladesh’s institutional landscape and development challenges will be considered an asset.
