International Event Manager
Project description
The aim of the project is to address critical issues in health system strengthening through a specialized leadership program of GIZ (German Agency for International Cooperation), in alignment with the mission of the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria (GFATM). The successful contractor will lead the coordination, adaptive design, management, and implementation of a tailored leadership program (L4HSS) inspired by the Leadership for Universal Health Coverage (L4UHC) flagship program of the P4H Network. The key overall objective is to support partner countries in their health system strengthening reform processes through coalition building, leadership competences, and the establishment of joint action initiatives which will lead to concrete policy options.
Job description
The International Event Manager will contribute to the execution of the overall responsibilities of the assignment. The main (but not only) responsibilities and tasks are the following:
- Relate to milestones: Event management planning, Event Implementation, Reporting
- Plan and manage logistics for all in-person and virtual events
- Identify and contract suitable venues in host countries.
- Coordinate travel, accommodation, and per diem for all participants.
- Ensure inclusivity, accessibility, and adherence to GIZ event standards.
- Prepare logistical packages, attendance lists, and event reports.
- Manage suppliers, procurement, and cost tracking.
- Ensure health, safety, and safeguarding measures during events
Qualifications
The International Event Manager will be required to possess the following qualifications and professional experience:
- University degree (e.g. ‘master’s or German Diploma’) in communications, marketing or business administration
- Knowledge of English C1 level in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages
- 7 years of professional experience in event management.
- 5 years of professional experience in managing logistical processes in a multi-stakeholder environment
- 3 years of management experience in projects, companies or other organizations with disciplinary leadership of 3 people
- 3 years of professional experience working in central Asian countries
- 3 years of professional experience working in African countries
- 3 years of experience in development cooperation projects
- Experience with GIZ, Gavi, Global Fund is a strong asset
